Surge Girls Hockey – Dynamic Defense Clinics
Led by our elite female coaching staff, these sessions focus on developing the modern defenseman — confident, mobile, and smart in all three zones. Athletes will work on key habits like strong gap control, efficient skating, and quick puck movement, while learning how to transition seamlessly from defense to offense.
Players will be challenged to read the game, make confident decisions under pressure, and contribute offensively while staying reliable in their own end.
Sessions are high-tempo, detail-oriented, and designed to reflect the pace and demands of today’s game.
What Players Will Work On
• Defensive skating, edge work, and mobility
• Pivots, transitions, and gap control
• Angling and defending in all zones
• Puck retrievals and breakout execution
• Blue-line movement and offensive activation
• Defending rushes and odd-man situations
• Game awareness, decision-making, and confidence under pressure
